Perché questa notte è diversa da tutte le altre notti?
שֶׁבְּכָל הַלֵּילוֹת אָנוּ אוֹכְלִין חָמֵץ וּמַצָּה, הַלַּיְלָה הַזֶּה – כֻּלּוֹ מַצָּה.
Shebekhol haleilot anu okhlin khametz umatza, halaila hazeh kulo matza.
In tutte le altre notti mangiamo chametz o matzà; questa notte, solo matzà.
שֶׁבְּכָל הַלֵּילוֹת אָנוּ אוֹכְלִין שְׁאָר יְרָקוֹת – הַלַּיְלָה הַזֶּה (כֻּלּוֹ) מָרוֹר.
Shebekhol haleilot anu okhlin she'ar yerakot, halaila hazeh (kulo) maror.
In tutte le altre notti mangiamo ogni tipo di verdura; questa notte, erbe amare.
שֶׁבְּכָל הַלֵּילוֹת אֵין אָנוּ מַטְבִּילִין אֲפִילוּ פַּעַם אֶחָת – הַלַּיְלָה הַזֶּה שְׁתֵּי פְעָמִים.
Shebekhol haleilot ein anu matbilin afilu pa'am ekhat, halaila hazeh shtei fe'amim.
In tutte le altre notti non intingiamo neppure una volta; questa notte, due volte.
שֶׁבְּכָל הַלֵּילוֹת אָנוּ אוֹכְלִין בֵּין יוֹשְׁבִין וּבֵין מְסֻבִּין – הַלַּיְלָה הַזֶּה כֻּלָּנוּ מְסֻבִּין.
Shebekhol haleilot anu okhlin bein yoshvin uvein mesubin, halaila hazeh kulanu mesubin.
In tutte le altre notti mangiamo seduti o adagiati; questa notte, tutti adagiati.
