About this place
London's second Sephardi cemetery, opened in 1733 when the Velho filled up, and one of only two exclusively Sephardi burial grounds left in England. Its flat, identical gravestones stand for the equality of all in death. It lies inside the Queen Mary University campus and is a listed monument.
