About this place

Neolog synagogue of Caransebeș, known as Beit El or the Israelite Temple, built between 1893 and 1894 in a Spanish-inspired neo-Gothic style — the only temple of its kind in Romania — and a listed historic monument since 2004. It is administered by the Jewish community of Lugoj, which holds concerts and Holocaust remembrance events there.
